A Dialog: Booker T. Washington Vs. W.E.B Dubois: Two Schools Of Thought, One Future

WHAT: Community College of Philadelphia will host, "A Dialogue: Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois: Two Schools of Thought, One Shared Future" to mark and celebrate Black History Month. The historical juxtaposition between Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois has created parallel schools of thought among African Americans in the areas of history, politics and education. Their philosophical positions were the driving forces behind their practices and contributions to American life.

PANELISTS: President Donald Guy Generals, author of Booker T. Washington: The Architect of Progressive Education, and Philadelphia's first Chief Diversity Officer, Nolan Atkinson, Esq. will discuss which philosopher and philosophy has made the greatest contribution to the advancement of Black people and answer audience questions as time permits. KYW Community Affairs Reporter Cherri Gregg and Rosalyn McPherson, president and CEO of The Urban League of Philadelphia who serves on the College's Board of Trustees, will moderate the discussion. The public is invited to attend, however RSVPs are requested.
