CCP’s Class of 2019 Includes Power 99’s MUTHA KNOWS, Much to His Classmates’ Surprise

Congressman Dwight Evans will speak at the ceremony on May 4

Who: During classes at Community College of Philadelphia, he was known as Kevin Ceasar, the funny guy in class who was willing to help you out with homework. However, as graduation day approached, word began to spread that CCP student Kevin Ceasar had an impressive day job. He was actually WUSL Power 99’s Mutha Knows , a fixture and fan favorite on the popular morning show who dishes out the latest gossip. Ceasar hid his celebrity from classmates and professors. “Around CCP, I'm just Kevin. I am just another student,” he said. He didn’t tell anyone he was a celebrity because he was only in college to "get an education. That is why I was here." Ceasar paid his own way through college, making it all the sweeter that on May 4th he becomes the first in his family to earn a college degree. He will receive an associate degree in Mass Media.

What: Community College of Philadelphia’s Class of 2019 is filled with the stories of Philadelphians who already are working hard to improve and uplift the city. In addition to Mutha Knows, who has been preaching the importance of a college education to his fans; U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans, a CCP alumnus and champion of education, will serve as keynote speaker. Amber Young, a campus leader, will be student commencement speaker. In addition, six high school students from MaST Community Charter School will get their associate degrees, more than a month before they actually complete high school.

Where: Commencement starts promptly at 10 a.m. at the Liacouras Center, 1776 Broad Street. Power 99’s Mutha Knows, Dwight Evans or the MaST high school students are all available for media interviews prior to the ceremony.
