Community College of Philadelphia to Host ‘Family Fun Day’ to Celebrate Student Parents

With student parents being overrepresented at community colleges, this event seeks to introduce students to on-campus resources to help them succeed 

PHILADELPHIA – Community College of Philadelphia and its Women’s Outreach and Advocacy Center have announced that they will host the “CCP Family Fun Day” to celebrate student parents on campus. The event will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10 at the Winnet Student Life Courtyard, 1700 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia, PA 19130. The entrance to the Winnet Student Life Courtyard can be accessed on 17th Street between Spring Garden and Callowhill Streets.   

During the event, students and their families will be able to enjoy an afternoon of free giveaways, face painting, a bounce house, and family portrait sessions. Students will also learn more on how they can take advantage of resources the Women’s Outreach and Advocacy Center has to offer has to offer.  

Resources include referrals to women’s agencies and social service organizations; support for homeless or near homeless students; as well as educational and issue awareness seminars, skill building workshops, and special conferences and presentations.
