Community College of Philadelphia Marks Patriot Day With a Remembrance of Those Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice for Freedom

What: Community College of Philadelphia will mark the 18th Anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks by paying tribute to those who lost their lives, including residents of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania.  Dr. Donald Guy Generals, president of the College, will give brief remarks, followed by the Coordinator for Veterans Programming Stephen J. Bachovin, who will pay homage to Pennsylvania members of the armed forces and student veterans who lost their lives while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

At 10:03 a.m., the time Flight 93 went down in Pennsylvania, the crowd will observe a moment of silence. The hijacked plane crashed into a field in Somerset County Pa. during an attempt by passengers and crew to regain control of the aircraft.

When: 10 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 11

Where: Bonnell Circle, outside of the Bonnell Building main entrance (located on 17th Street, between Callowhill and Spring Garden streets)
