WHAT: Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, whose ministry includes education, social issues, and service, will present a $100,000 check to Community College of

Philadelphia President Dr. Donald Guy Generals during its Sunday Service on June 25.

The donation supports the 50th Anniversary Scholars Program, whose ultimate goal is to make it possible for eligible Philadelphia high school graduates to go to college. The donation is expected to help educate more than 100 city students, allowing those who meet the Scholars program’s criteria to earn an associate’s degree, with no cost for tuition and fees.

“On behalf of the students, faculty and staff at the College, I want to thank Pastor Alyn E. Waller and the entire membership at Enon for extending opportunity to Philadelphia high school graduates who show much promise, but need their community’s support to earn a college degree and become highly skilled workforce contributors,” said Dr. Donald Guy Generals. “A large gift such as this can change the lives of so many students, and foster more secure futures for their families and our City.”

WHO: Dr. Generals will speak during the morning service and the check will be presented after he speaks (between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.)

Reverend Dr. Alyn E. Waller, Senior Pastor, led the effort to raise the money for the College’s Anniversary Fund. The first lady of Enon, Dr. Ellyn Jo Waller, is the leader of Enon’s Women’s Ministry and chair-elect of the Community College of Philadelphia Foundation.

WHEN: Sunday, June 25, 2017

Church services begin at 9:45 a.m.

Dr. Generals is expected to speak and receive a check between 10:00 a.m.– 10:30 a.m.
