MEDIA ADVISORY GROUPS WANT TO BRING INTERNATIONAL WHITE RIBBON CAMPAIGN TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN TO PHILADELPHIA

What

Community College of Philadelphia’s Women’s Center and the Center for the Empowerment of Women are hosting a planning session to organize a local White Ribbon Campaign chapter. The WRC is an international organization that works with men to end violence against women and girls. The Toronto-based group was founded in Canada in 1991 by a handful of men. Its supporters, who now number in the tens of thousands in 55 countries around the world, wear a white ribbon to symbolize their opposition to violence against women. A representative from the Vermont WRC will be present to help strategize.
