Shannon McLaughlin Rooney is Named VP of Marketing and Communications at Community College of Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA.– Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) is pleased to announce Shannon McLaughlin Rooney as the college’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Rooney is responsible for leading CCP’s marketing and communications teams and overseeing the College’s effort in marketing, public relations, publication design and content development, strategic communications, special events, social media and CCP’s website.

Rooney brings more than a decade of experience in leadership across marketing and communications, events, external affairs and recruitment campaigns. She most recently served as assistant dean for strategic communications at Temple University’s Klein College. During her 10 years with Temple University, she also held the roles of director of marketing & communications and assistant director of communications for Temple University’s College of Liberal Arts.

Before joining Temple, she served as senior communications specialist for Independence Blue Cross and editorial production manager for Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. Rooney earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master’s in Journalism from Temple University. Rooney, who is currently on track to complete her Ph.D. at Temple University later this year, has author several peer-reviewed journal articles exploring the evolution of the journalism industry.
