Looking for a program that will give you the training necessary to enter the workforce of an in-demand field? Biomedical Equipment Technicians (BMETs) are health care professionals who test, maintain and repair medical equipment. As a BMET, you could work for a hospital, medical device manufacturer, or third-party hospital vendor, fixing and testing a wide range of medical devices and clinical applications. The program starts with the Biomedical Equipment Technology I Proficiency Certificate, and those who complete this certificate can continue their education with the Biomedical Equipment Technology II Proficiency Certificate.
Upon receiving your proficiency certificate, you may: enter the workforce; earn the Biomedical Equipment Technology II Proficiency Certificate; or apply your courses to the Applied Science and Engineering Technology associate's degree program, and then transfer to a four-year college.
