Our Technical Studies program awards you college credit for the specialized knowledge you’ve gained through various experiences and training. Designed for individuals who have not yet earned a college degree, this program allows you to earn one by recognizing the value of your experience and earned credentials. You will work closely with faculty to build on your skills for career success, as well as gain communication, critical thinking and technology skills. This degree allows you to develop a program directly related to your career or education goals.

Courses and Completion Sequence

The following courses and sequence of courses is designed for the optimal success and completion of the Technical Studies degree/certificate. Any alterations should be discussed with your academic advisor.

Semester 1

  • This program is designed to provide students with the option of entering the workforce or transferring to a bachelor's degree program after earning their associate's degree
  • Follow this course schedule each semester and you’ll earn your associate’s degree in two years
  • Make sure you discuss your first semester schedule and your educational plan with an advisor or counselor when you register.

General Education Requirements:

All General Education requirements are met through required courses (as indicated above) except for the Writing Intensive requirement, the Interpretive Studies requirement and the American/Global Diversity requirement. Therefore, in order to graduate, students in this program must choose one course that is designated Writing Intensive, one course that is designated Interpretive Studies and one course that is designated American Global Diversity. The same course may be used to fulfill all three requirements.
