What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of compute power, database, storage, applications, and other IT resources via the internet with pay-as-you-go pricing.
Whether you are using it to run applications that share photos to millions of mobile users or to support business critical operations, a cloud services platform provides rapid access to flexible and low cost IT resources. With cloud computing, you don’t need to make large upfront investments in hardware and spend a lot of time on the heavy lifting of managing that hardware. Instead, you can provision exactly the right type and size of computing resources you need to power your newest idea or operate your IT department. You can access as many resources as you need, almost instantly, and only pay for what you use.
How Does Cloud Computing Work?
Cloud computing gives you access to servers, storage, databases, and a broad set of application services over the Internet. A cloud services provider such as Amazon Web Services, owns and maintains the network-connected hardware required for these application services, while you provision and use what you need via a web application.
Becoming AWS Certified helps you gain credibility for your AWS expertise and enables organizations to identify the skilled professionals to lead IT initiatives.

These courses are offered online. You will need the following to participate in any or all of these courses.
- You will need a PC or Mac (64 bit) with internet access.

- You will need Google Authenticator to login securely into your AWS account.
- Create an account with Qwiklabs. This is a (partially) free environment for you to learn the basics about AWS' essential services. qwiKLABS is AWS approved lab and qwikLABS provide hands-on practice with popular AWS services and real-world cloud scenarios.
AWS - Introduction to Cloud Computing
Cloud computing allows you to utilize shared resources available through a service provider. Those resources can be storage space, use of software applications, or servers. You can buy more resources in the cloud if you need to and you can give back resources that you no longer need. In this workshop, you will access Amazon Web Services. You will set up virtual servers, work with cloud file storage, learn about a variety of cloud collaboration options, and much more. This practical workshop will help you make the transition to working in the cloud from any device, anywhere, anytime.
Anyone who wishes to learn how to use AWS to build scalable application. This course is designed for the absolute beginner.
Introduction to DevOps (Development Operations)
Join us to learn about the concepts of DevOps and how it can help developers and system administrators work in a collaborative environment. This class is designed for people who have little or no prior experience with Linux or Unix. System administrators, developers, architects, decision makers or new Linux users can all benefit from the content covered in this class, especially if they are looking to work with more involved topics such as Linux system administration, network management and enterprise system architecture.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Cloud Computing or a minimum of 2 years of experience with Linux.
AWS - Cloud Computing Bootcamp
This is a follow up to Introduction to Cloud Computing with focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) intended to prepare students for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate exam (the "Exam"). This workshop is to ensure that students have sufficient mastery of AWS cloud computing with the specific purpose of being an AWS Certified Solution Architect – Associate. Learn about the fundamentals for the AWS DevOps Associate and AWS Sys Ops Associate certification exams.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Cloud Computing, Introduction to DevOps or equivalent.
