BLAS the Yard Opening Address: The Need for Black Studies
10 a.m. - 11 a.m. | Pavilion Building, The Klein Cube, Room P2-3
This program will kickoff BLAS the Yard, which is day of programs celebrating various aspects of the black college experience. The day will include student activism reference tables, an HBCU fair, student-led panels on career goals as Black Studies majors, a taste of African cuisines and a mini-step-show. In this program, our keynote speaker will discuss the necessity for the Black Studies curriculum and the impact it has on our students.
BLAS the Yard Fair: Where to Go to Begin BLAS Your Path
10 a.m. to 2 pm | Pavilion Building, The Klein Cube, Room P2-3
For the students who are ready to BLAS their path but need some direction, this all-day fair is the perfect starting point. We’ve gathered representatives from all of the local colleges and HBCU’s so that students can learn more about their programs, transfer options, and scholarship opportunities. Cabrini College, Temple University, Lincoln University, and Cheyney University will be in attendance.
BLAS Student Major Panel: What it Looks Like to BLAS Your Own Path

This program will be led by BLAS majors from Temple, Cabrini, Thomas Jefferson University, and Community College of Philadelphia! Moderated by Derrick Perkins, Director of the College's Center for Male Engagement.
