Pro-Bono Citizenship Day is a national event organized by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and a great opportunity for eligible permanent residents (green-card holders) to receive free assistance in applying for U.S. citizenship.
In preparation for this event scheduled on September 14, interested individuals including students and their families must attend an information and screening session scheduled for August 28.
The College's Justice department and Single Stop are partnering with this pro-bono group to host both sessions at the College's Main Campus. Legal Permanent Residents who would like to become a citizens are invited to learn more. Find out if you can get free legal help.
- Learn about the citizenship process.
- Get screened by a trained volunteer to make sure you are eligible/ready.
- The screening will include legal eligibility, English language proficiency, and eligibility for income-based fee waivers.
