Advocating for Your Financial Aid
Applying for and obtaining financial aid for college can be a complex and sometimes grueling process. Many times, students grow discouraged, and organized efforts to transform the current system do not go far enough. Join us for a panel discussion to learn more about government advocacy, and ways you can get involved to unite your power and transform the financial aid process to better fit the needs of today's students.
Panelists will speak about their professional roles and answer follow-up questions detailing how students can get involved in advocacy around federal student aid
Speakers Include:
The Honorable Dwight Evans, United States Congressman, 3rd Congressional District of Pennsylvania
Kathleen Smith, Senior vice president and director of Federal Relations, PHEAA
John Falleroni, Senior associate director of Financial Aid, Duquesne University and government relations chair, Pennsylvania Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (PASFAA)
Moderated by Stephanie Zeppenfelt, Administrator of Financial Aid Systems, Community College of Philadelphia
This event is hosted by Community College of Philadelphia's Liberal Arts and Communications Guided Pathways Committee.
