A Big Read event, celebrating the Philadelphia Work of Edgar Allan Poe through October and November 2015
Location: Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, Room M1-17
Dr. Kelly Connelly, assistant chair of Developmental English at the College, will lead a discussion on how to use literature, particularly Poe, in teaching college students. Dr. Connelly's dissertation focused on detective fiction, and her career since her graduate work has focused on teaching writing. Combining her two interests, Dr. Connelly's talk will focus on how to teach first-year writing students the fundamentals of composition while utilizing the detective fiction genre.
