My goal is to transfer to either Jefferson School of Nursing or La Salle to complete the BSN program. Now that I have my associates degree, I look forward to the next steps in my education. I can’t wait for clinical studies and learning how to properly give an IV. Just thinking about being a pediatric nurse motivates me everyday to prepare myself for the ups and down. It’s already hard enough to see adults sick in the hospital but it’s going to be a little more challenging seeing children sick especially when this is the time they’re suppose to enjoy life and spending their childhood without worries. I hope that I can be someone’s favorite nurse that puts a smile on their face.

What’s your favorite CCP memory? :
My favorite CCP memory was meeting my best-friend Keithdon. I met him in my 016 math class and we were both struggling since math wasn’t our strongest subject. We agreed to meet at the library after class to study. We ended up eating snacks and sharing life stories. We did this for 15 weeks and kept in contact. It was funny because we didn’t know that we lived up the street from each other the entire time. I would see during school and after school. He was my first real friend that I met in college and our bond was unbreakable. He became apart of my family very quick and my family also loved him. He sadly passed away in 2020, just a few days before Christmas. I had no idea and was trying to contact him for an entire year. I was upset and thought he forgot about me. I recently found out about his death just a day after this past Christmas and it broke me. I thought to myself, “How can I finish this last semester knowing that my friend is gone?” It stressed me everyday until classes started just weeks later. I not only did this for me but I did this for him as well. I know he would be so happy for me so I pushed myself for him. Keithdon will always be apart of my heart and I’ll never forget him.

Where will you go?:
I will be attending Temple University in the Fall as a music education major. I am truly looking forward to using my degree to experience and understand a wider range of music material.

What’s your favorite CCP memory? :
My favorite CCP memory was when I started my first day of classes as a music performance major. I was nervous because I did not know if I still remembered any music theory and if I would sound good for my upcoming music classes because it had been a year since I had practiced any music material. Also, I did not know if I had made the correct decision by switching my major to music performance. After taking my music reading class with James Sauppe and applied voice class with Callie Graver I realized I had remembered quite a bit from my previous music training and when I did have trouble with any music theory material or singing, my professors were also there to assist. While my musical knowledge strongly increased, I realized that music was my true passion. I was truly elated to be in a musical space again and though throughout my semesters there was a lot of hard work involved, it was all truly worth it to fully understand, appreciate, and follow my passion for music.
