Community College of Philadelphia presents the first annual Women’s Leadership Conference. The theme of the conference will be “The Woman: Mind, Body & Spirit… Defining and Refining the Leader Within.” The day will be filled with meaningful events that address what it means to be a female leader, the barriers that exist and how to overcome them.
Last year’s Student Talent Showcase included singers, musicians and other acts from the Community College of Philadelphia student body. Join us in the Bonnell Auditorium for this year’s array of talent.
Dr. Karen Dace will serve as the keynote speaker for the Fifth Annual African American Breakfast. Dr. Dace currently services as the vice chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with breakfast, and the program will being at 9:30. We anticipate the event will end by 10:30 a.m.
The 22nd Annual African American Children’s Book Fair will be held in Community College of Philadelphia’s Athletics Center. Celebrated authors and illustrators will make presentations from their books, and prizes, games and reading resources will be made available. A wide selection of books will be available to purchase, and this event is free and open to the public.
Sponsored by the Student Leadership and Involvement Center, students and staff from the College participate in this annual day of service, where the focus is on giving back to the community. Join us at Girard College, 2101 S. College Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19121 on Monday, January, 20, from 8:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Upon arrival, each participant will receive the official MLK Day of service T-shirt and will have a choice of over 100 service projects.
