All month long; from September 15 to October 15, 2020 | Across Philadelphia
It's no secret that Philadelphia is a foodie's dream come true! With an array of cultures and cuisines, there's something special for everyone, especially when it comes to celebrating LatinX Heritage Month. Check out our curated list of Caribbean restaurants that we think you should try this month, and beyond!
Latinos make up over 15% of the city's population (according to the 2019 ACS Census Bureau Community Survey), but continue to be underrepresented in politics, jobs and opportunities. Post-Hurricane Maria, the Puerto Rican Population in Philadelphia has significantly increased. How can this impact or change the face of politics in the region? What is the future of Puerto Rico? How can political action change the narrative?
Encouraging diversity throughout the College community is more than a goal; it's a shared mindset and commitment. Please join Dr. Generals in the first Fireside Chat of the fall semester to engage in a conversation recognizing Latinx Heritage Month.
Join us for a panel discussion featuring guest speakers from eight different countries, including ambassadors and academics from Mexico, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, China, Ukraine, India and Iran. Through these panel discussions, we will be opening our students and faculty to international perspectives on the upcoming presidential election. This event is being hosted in partnership with the Center for International Understanding, Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania.
