2015 Annual Women’s Leadership Conference: Building Your Foundation for Lifelong Leadership

This one-day event leadership forum will support multiple viewpoints and empower students to succeed academically and professionally on and off campus. Our goal is to challenge students academically, socially, and personally to focus on behaviors that strengthen their personal effectiveness and leadership development.

MLK Day of Service

Once again, the College has been invited to participate at the City's signature site for the 2015 MLK day of Service. Come out and join the College family at Girard College, 2101 S. College Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19121, on Monday, Jan., 19, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. - 12pm.

Each participant will receive the official MLK Day of Service t-shirt upon arrival, enjoy a free lunch and have the choice of over 100 service projects. Projects include the following which are sponsored by the College's Student Ambassador Program:

Law and Society Week

Presented by Fox Rothschild Center for Law and Society. This annual week of legal events, designed for the College Family and local community, features workshops, lectures, film screenings and panel discussions on a variety of current topics. Many events qualify for continuing legal education credits. Various events are free and opened to the public. View detailed schedule of events.

African American Children’s Book Fair

The Book Fair is now one of the oldest and largest single day events for African American Children's Books in the country. The success of the program is due to the fact that we offer the best and the brightest from the African American Children's literary community. Parents, caregivers, and educators from the tri-state area are very supportive of the event. They all understand that children who read make more responsible decisions about their lifestyles.

Blood Drive

The American Red Cross is hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Coffeehouse, Student Life Building.

A representative from the American Red Cross will be on campus tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 2 at a table in the Pavilion, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to recruit employees and students to donate blood on Dec. 9.

Please give blood - you could save up to three lives. Every few seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion in our local community.

Music Department's Fall 2014 Performance Series Kickoff

 The College's Music department’s fall 2014 Performance Series begins on Monday, Nov. 24 and runs through Friday, Dec. 5, with performances by the College's Voice Majors, Chamber Music Ensembles, Vocal Ensemble, Modern Pop and Rock Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and the M.A.R.S Ensemble.

The story of Philadelphia activists, who in 1971 broke into FBI offices in Media, PA and uncovered the FBI’s vast and illegal regime of spying and intimidation of Americans exercising their First Amendment rights. In our current age of Wikileaks & Edward Snowden, this documentary couldn’t be timelier. This event is free and open to the public.
