GOLD SOCIETY CELEBRATION
Loyal donors were celebrated at the annual Gold Society event in December 2019. Held at the College’s Black Box Theater, the evening began with a reception, followed by a musical performance with artists from CCP’s own Spring Garden Records, which included a mix of folk, funk, jazz and pop music. This exclusive event recognized the generous support of individuals who have given to the Foundation for five or more consecutive years.
SCHOLARSHIP MEET AND GREET
The Foundation hosted a Scholarship Meet and Greet in November 2019, bringing together scholarship donors and recipients. The informal luncheon gave students an opportunity to thank and talk with the benefactors responsible for their scholarship awards, and for donors to hear firsthand the impact of their generosity.

BLACK AND GOLD GALA 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the difficult decision was made to cancel the 2020 Black & Gold Gala. Although we were unable to gather together this year, the contributions of Gala benefactors were needed more than ever in support of the 50th Anniversary Promise Scholarship, which many students rely on to attend Community College of Philadelphia. We are so grateful to our community who generously stepped up to further the success of our students.

THE GALA’S SUPPORT OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP
Proceeds from the Black and Gold Gala support the 50th Anniversary Promise Scholarship, which has provided high school graduates across the city the opportunity to pursue an associate degree at no cost for tuition and fees at Community College of Philadelphia.
In the five years since the scholarship program began, the College has supported more than 1,260 students. This fundraising initiative enables college-ready, Pell-eligible, Philadelphia high school graduates to attend the College with no out-of- pocket costs for tuition and fees. The program began in fall 2015 in response to America’s College Promise proposal and, as of spring 2020, has awarded $874,499 in scholarships. More than 200 recipients have earned a certificate or associate degree.
The success story of the 50th Anniversary Promise Scholarship would not be possible without the funds raised from the Gala and the generosity of our sponsors and donors who support the program and student success.
