SUPPORTING STUDENT PROGRAMS
Study Abroad Support from the Ambrose Monell Foundation
Since 2008, the Ambrose Monell Foundation has supported student trips to study abroad. In December 2023, the Foundation awarded CCP a grant of $150,000, distributed by $75,000 per year for two years, bringing their long-term total giving to $675,000.
Paul and Elizabeth Shay: Generosity Focused on Emergency Needs
Paul and Elizabeth Shay gave $10,000 to support basic and emergency needs for students at Community College of Philadelphia. This funding makes an impact on many students, covering such costs as transportation, rent and child care. The College provided more than $347,000 in emergency and basic needs funding in the 2023-2024 academic year.
PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC)
Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program enables businesses and individuals to divert most of their PA State income taxes to educational institutions serving K-12 students. Community College of Philadelphia’s Dual Enrollment and Jr. STEM Academy programs are eligible to receive such donations.
CCP has benefited from EITC donations from Comcast NBCUniversal, Globus Medical, Elliot-Lewis and Ardmore Toyota.
If you are interested in giving through the Commonwealth’s EITC program, please find more information at foundation.ccp.edu/eitc.
