Medical Assistant Intake Process
Medical Assistant Program Requirements
Due to the competitive nature of the Allied Health programs, there are special requirements that must be met to be considered for the Medical Assistant proficiency certificate program:
- You must have a high school diploma or General Education Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Demonstration of readiness for FNMT 118 as determined by satisfying placement during the admission process or by successfully completing developmental coursework
- Applicants with previous College experience or current Community College of Philadelphia students interested in adding this program must have satisfied all prerequisite coursework, and must also meet the minimum grade point average of 2.0
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by the start of the Medical Assistant clinical experience.
Applicants new to the College must apply to the College, and then apply to the Medical Assistant proficiency certificate program.
Current College students in good academic standing can apply to the Medical Assitant proficienty certificate program. Current students on academic probation should contact Counseling.

Application Submission
Current Community College of Philadelphia students who plan on applying to the Medical Assisting certificate program and meet the eligibility requirements should complete the program application by following these steps:
- Step one: Log in to MyCCP
- Step two: Click on the "Student Services" link in the menu on the left
- Step three: Click on the “Medical Assisting Application Forms" under "Electronic Forms" on the top, right-hand side of the page
