About This Program
Our Art and Design program will help you explore a range of media, increase your practice skills and sharpen your sense of design. You will learn basic visual skills, elements and principles of design, and specific characteristics of several media while gaining a broader perspective through art history and theory.

Program Entry Requirements
Students are required to satisfy placement at the time of admission. Students identified as needing developmental course work must satisfactorily complete the appropriate English and mathematics courses as a part of their degree program.
General Education Requirements
All general education requirements necessary for graduation are met through the courses in the program as indicated above. Students who wish to take courses that differ from the general education courses indicated above must complete a course substitution request form. To access the form, login to the MyCCP portal, and in the Student tab, under Electronic Forms, click on the Records and Registration Forms link, then choose Request For Course Substitution Of Graduation Requirement link. Program of Study and Graduation Requirements
Students in the Art and Design curriculum must complete a series of General Education requirements that include English 101 and 102, a quantitative reasoning course, a cultural analysis and interpretation course, and a scientific reasoning course in addition to the program specific courses. English 101 is expected to be completed within the first 30 credits. To qualify for the Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree in Art and Design, a student must complete a minimum of 63 credit hours as prescribed and attain a grade point average of 2.0 or better and no grade below "C" in any program core and directed elective course.

- Design art therapy sessions or programs to meet client's goals or objectives.
- Write treatment plans, case summaries, or progress or other reports related to individual clients or client groups.
- Study different techniques to learn how to apply them to artistic endeavors.
- Observe and document client reactions, progress, or other outcomes related to art therapy.
