Applying for Financial Aid doesn't have to be complicated. Follow these easy steps and you are on your way!
The 2024-2025 FAFSA Will be Available in December 2023
Historically, the FAFSA has been available to complete on October 1 for an upcoming academic year. For example, students were able to complete the FAFSA for the 2023-2024 academic year beginning in October 2022. Due to significant changes being made to the application and the rebuild to the FAFSA processing system, the 2024-2025 FAFSA will not be available until December 2023. Updates on an exact date will be posted here when announced.
Step 1 - Complete the FAFSA
To apply for financial aid you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each academic year. Go to www.studentaid.gov > Apply for Aid > Complete the FAFSA Form to get started. You can complete the FAFSA online and sign it electronically with your FSA ID. You can apply for or retrieve your FSA ID (username & password) at fsaid.ed.gov. Your FAFSA application is used to apply for the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work Study, FSEOG, Federal Direct Loans and the PA State Grant. Additional steps may be required in order to receive the PA State Grant. The PA State Grant is administered by PHEAA. More information regarding the PA State Grant is found at www.pheaa.org.
Community College of Philadelphia School Code: 003249
Note: Please keep record of your FSA ID. You will need it every year to apply for financial aid and to access Federal Student Aid websites.
