Steps to Applying for Financial Aid

Applying for Financial Aid doesn't have to be complicated. Follow these easy steps and you are on your way!

Step 1 - Complete the FAFSA

To apply for financial aid you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) each academic year. Go to www.fafsa.gov to get started. You can complete the FAFSA online and sign it electronically with your FSA ID. You can apply for or retrieve your FSA ID (username & password) at fsaid.ed.gov. Your FAFSA application is used to apply for the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Work Study, FSEOG, Federal Direct Loans and the PA State Grant. Additional steps may be required in order to receive the PA State Grant. The PA State Grant is administered by PHEAA. More information regarding the PA State Grant is found at www.pheaa.org.
