Pre-Doctorate in Pharmacy Proficiency Certificate

Description:

The Pre-Doctorate in Pharmacy Proficiency Certificate is a 22 credit-hour select program designed for students who have been accepted into the College’s Early Assurance to Pharm. D. Program. Students in the certificate program are also enrolled in the A.S. in Biology. Admitted students will complete coursework required for the A.S. in Biology and, in addition, complete the coursework required for this certificate. Once completed, students will be assured a priority review for admissions to The Jefferson College of Pharmacy of Thomas Jefferson University.

Program Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the Pharmacy Proficiency Certificate, students will be able to:

  • Explain the structure and function of the major organ systems in the human body
  • Solve problems related to mechanics, heat and sound
  • Communicate with people who vary in race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, social and economic status, sexual orientation, ability and religion 

Program Entry Requirements:

This proficiency certificate is open to students who have been accepted into the Early Assurance to Pharm.D. Program. Students must also be enrolled in, and have earned at least 15 credits for, the A.S. in Biology.

Program of Study and Graduation Requirements:

Successful completion of the certificate requires a "C" or better in all courses listed below. Achievement of a C or better in all courses requires the student to demonstrate competency as assessed using written and/or oral exams, demonstrations, writing assignments, projects, and participation in classroom activities.
