Career Readiness in IT Pre-Apprenticeship
Gain the Skills Needed to Prepare for a Career in IT
The Career Readiness in IT Pre-Apprenticeship program prepares participants for entry-level employment, a registered apprenticeship, or further study in the field of computers and information technology. In addition to technical skills provided through instruction and certification in CompTIA IT Fundamentals, the program provides participants with a strong foundation in the application of workplace skills, including communication, teamwork, work habits, life skills, problem solving and budget basics.
These skills are covered in the program through the following courses (96 hours):
- Teamwork (18 hours)
- Critical Thinking; Working in Teams; Problem Solving
- Communication (18 hours)
- Interpersonal Communication; Business Writing that Works
- Technology (36 hours)
- CompTIA IT Fundamentals
- Foundation Skills (24 hours)
- ACT WorkKeys; Conflict Resolution: Getting Along in the Workplace (6 hours)
- Budget and Financial Literacy (6 hours)
Participants will receive support with résumé development, job searching and interview preparation. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate of program completion, and will be enrolled to take the ACT National Career Readiness Certification examination.
